Documentaries have become increasingly popular over the years. Done well, they can tell a great story while conveying a great amount of information about events, history or people. Businesses could benefit from a documentary with a history of their company combining interviews, pictures current footage as well as old footage of the company. Towns and historical societies could have a documentary produced about those interesting but little know pieces of history that are unique to those towns. Even a family documentary with interviews from family members combines with old home videos and pictures would be a great way to preserve cherished details of the family.

Producing documentaries is a passion of ours at GreenCastle Video Productions. Since 1994, we have been shooting quality documentaries all over Massachusetts and across the world. Our documentaries have been distributed on DVD across Europe and the United States and broadcast across the United States. We will work with you closely to carefully plan, script, shoot and edit your documentary the way you envisioned. Our commitment to detail and quality is evident no matter what the length.

What we do before shooting

Plan a series of meetings to determine exactly what your needs are and how GreenCastle Video can meet those needs
Visit as many locations as possible where the documentary will be shot to get a feel for the locations, figure out technical needs and meet with others who may be involved with the shoot
Determine who will be interviewed and get written permission from those people
Loosely script your documentary to provide a roadmap for the documentary

What we do during shooting

Let the documentary unfold before the camera
Be as unobtrusive as possible and stage as few shots as possible
Capture as much of the action as possible

What we do during the editing process

Work with you to determine the flow of the documentary
Give regular drafts of the documentary during the editing process so you can review and make changes
